Old Ways used in a New World
Silver has been used for centuries. Silver was used to treat wounds and heal disease also as a disinfectant. The world is changing glass makers and hospitals are seeing the benefits of using colloidal silver in bedding and gloves and mattresses glass containers, by beginning to infuse this amazing product into the fabrics of modern medicine. Hospitals will soon have beds that have colloidal silver infused in the water proof covers because it repels germs and keeps the area sanitary.
The old ways are still alive and being practiced all over the world. One of my favorite adventures of Colloidal silver has to do with a rooster and a leg.
I arrived back in Hawaii, from visiting my family in Colorado for the holidays. I was met with an urgent wound issue. A rooster had attacked this gentleman and gouged a deep cut into the back of his leg about 3 inches long and a 1/8 inch deep. It happened just after I left for Colorado, the team exhausted their options trying all kinds of treatments and remedies, sound healing (where a person sits over top of the wound and sings in different frequencies), comfrey compress (they ground up a bunch of Comfrey plant and placed it over the wound to take inflammation and pain out and to help regenerate cell damage), a clay called Bentonite a super healing drink and application and a few others.
I unwrapped the wound and was utterly disgusted and amazed at what was occurring on the back of his leg. A black necrosis (dying skin), began to wrap around it. A wound this size would have been treated with a bandage that cover the area and helps re grow the area around it a trans-dermal medicated patch taking about 5 -10 days to heal completely. Since he didn't choose the doctor, we were left to figure out how to heal this wound. My mentor, a medicine woman taught me how to care for him. She explained all of the natural ways to help him live his life managing his disease naturally. I was taught about all the properties of many ancient tools of the kitchen and with my experience modern training. I applied the information from modern world with the tools from the ancients and created a nice blend of technique and tools.
I searched for some anti bacterial cleaners, I learned apple cider vinegar had some properties that would help kill the decaying skin and clean the wound. I also learned about Colloidal Silver and its properties, anti inflammatory and anti bacterial. You can look up Colloidal Science Laboratory for more information. The combination was a winner!
I cleaned with apple cider vinegar twice daily and wrapped it with gauze drenched in Colloidal silver, letting it soak for a five to ten minutes. Then dried it and bandaged it, for 15 days.
Day One; I opened the bandage up and saw that the black fungus was peeling off, I used gauze and apple cider vinegar with q-tips I swabbed the area and it wiped away. We applied the sliver was added to the gauze and I let it sit and within the first day we saw the skin beginning to heal. The inflammation around the wound had seized and was clearing up.
By day five, we noted that his pain and inflammation along with the necrosis was gone. Now it was just working over time to heal it. He consumed foods, I had never heard of or experienced, are full of protein and healing powers. His day started with something like these, fava beans, Adzuki beans, lentils and Kalo, an abundance of green salads rich in kale, rainbow chard, spinach, basil, cilantro, peppers topped in balsamic vinegar and olive oil, sea weed (Dulce), sun dried tomatoes and sesame seed, flax and hemp seeds. Between the foods healing powers and the magic combo, he managed to heal completely in 15 days. In his late 70's with that size wound healing completely is remarkable.
Colloidal Silver is also used to bring balance to the pH when ingested. The human body has a pH and if we are to acidic we are more at risk for cancers, if we are to basic we become at risk for many diseases like bone resorption acidosis and metabolic aklaosis. Check out LIVESTRONG.com Blog Diseases Caused by alkaline or acid pH in the body for a nice short and sweet explanation.
I loved mixing the old with the new. I added this combination to my vault of information for use in the future. All of the foods helped with cell regeneration. He slept so much during those days it was unbelievable. But his body was doing the work and he was allowing it to do the work by sleeping and not wasting any energy on anything else just healing that leg up so he could use it again.
Fava beans are wonderful beans, they have a low dose of dopamine in them and they are so yummy freshly sprouted also in stews they are amazing. These beans pack a punch to the mitochondria cells it puts them into over drive like the hulk. Adzuki beans are delicious to make as a soup, these are a beautiful bean and also deliver health to all the cells in our systems. Lentil's are used in curry, we made a bunch of down there. He ate lilicoi for a enriching sweet snack, this fruit is also carries a formula to stimulate the dopamine imbalance that occurs in Parkinson's and other diseases that control the muscles and keep them from shaking uncontrollably.
All this was proof to me that it does exist, living with no modern treatments or medications is possible and that the combination of these new and old ways is the key to balancing disease and sickness. Allowing our bodies to do their jobs in protecting us and healing us, listening to what they tell us we need to do to feel better and stronger. Some things are preventable other are not and we have to choose the best way to manage our bodies.
